Cats Bolting for the Front Door
1. Prevent ability to run out and access to the door for at least 3 months; yes, confined in one room.
2. When you do let him out of the room, have prepared sheets of tin foil near the front door with double sided sticky tape.
3. If he comes within 10 feet of the door, blast with syringe full of water.
4. Have copious amounts o fcat nip and treats in the areas of the house FURTHEST from the front door.
5. Pet and praise whenever he is going AWAY from the front door and only give him attention, petting and food at the FURTHEST point from the front door.
6. Put a bell on his collar so you can hear him BEFORE he ever gets close enough to the door to bolt--and--
7. NEVER LET HIM OUT OF THE HOUSE EVER AGAIN EXCEPT GOING TO THE VETS IN A SECURE CAT CARRIER.
Give this program 4 months and he should be less eager to bolt.
